It was, of course, a perfectly rational question. That it was asked by Nate made it even more so. He was from a comparatively normal universe, after all, one where superheroes didn't exist save for comic books and movies and the odd live action television series. Of course he wouldn't understand. In my mind, it only convinced me all the more that what I was doing was precisely on target.
