Okay. Ask an obvious question, get an obvious answer. But that didn't really help Nate figure out what was going on. Yesterday she had been stuttering and shy, acting like a wallflower. And today Kate was jumping off cliffs?

"Why?" he asked, coming closer. "Kate, come on, just step back, please?"
